Carno is the first of the green villages from Machynlleth. Village life is centred around the thriving community centre, which was the scene of a public meeting explaining the green villages project. It is hoped that the heating system can be upgraded, and work is to start soon on replacing the windows for more efficient ones, and to improve on the lighting system.
